First some opposition parties decided not to participate in the elections hoping to criminalize EPRDF.
Then they say because we are out of the elections the public is not going to actively participate in the elections.
Once they know over 30 million voters are registered they say it is because they were obliged to go out for registration.
Once the votes happen and the turn out is big; they claim EPRDF runs alone and wins the election with no apparent alternative.
There is no logic and truth to it that says when opposition A is not in the election, the election has no alternative while opposition C, D and E are part of the election.
The fact of the matter is oppositions like Medrek can't field as many candidates as they claim on weekly papers. They don't even have a registered member let alone candidates that can stand in the elections.
For me the truth is the radical opposition don't like to see how small they are in real value by going for the elections and decline to take part to save their breath may be for 2007 national election.
Time for the opposition to sit back and make thorough assessment of themselves to come ever stronger. Rumor and rants on weekly papers can't and won't create credible and competent opposition.
I believe one able party respects the elections and go for it; dominantly the public commends its effort while it openly tells EPRDF to correct the mistakes discussed in forums across Addis at the least.
